Codd bottles recovered from the wreck of the German 800 ton three masted steel barque LUNA, the ship was wrecked during a storm on 1st March 1903 with no survivors.
The LUNA was bound for New Zealand, from Liverpool with a general cargo when she struck the feared Brissons rocks, which lie a mile off the Lands End peninsula.
The bottles were made in the United Kingdom for companies in New Zealand, the 'Codd' bottle was invented by Hiram Codd in 1875.
