A late 19th/early 20th Century Royal Navy Rum Pump.
Made from copper and tinned internally to prevent a metallic taste to the rum, brass rod plunger and valve with beech wood handle. Length: 41 inches / 104 cm.
The rum pump was used to decant the neat rum from barrels and into containers before being made into grog.
