A presentaion mounted ships drycard compass by Spencer Browning & Co, London.
An early gimballed brass ships compass with drycard dial. The compass card itself also has a patent gimball mechanism to steady the card. It is mounted onto a custom made mahogany presentation stand.
Made by Spencer Browning & Co, London. - Spencer Browning & Co are recorded as making navigational instruments from 1840 to 1870.Â
Compass bowl diameter: 7.5 inches / 19 cm, Stand width: 15 inches / 38 cm, Height: 7.5 inches / 19 cm.
