A very rare mid 19th century lifeboat binnacle by DENT.

A compact copper compass binnacle containing the original compass bowl which is mounted on gimbals, the outer bezel engraved DENT's Patent Liquid Compass, No.1836. 61 Strand, London.

Hinged night time illumination lantern to one side, complete with its original oil burner.

Swing carry handle to the top.
