A presentation mounted antique Sextant by T.L. Ainsley, South Shields.
This antique Sextant has a rare frame design and has been mounted onto a hardwood backboard for presentation or display, the Sextant can easily be removed so it can be handled. Space below the Sextant has been created so an engraved presentation plaque could be attached if required.
The Sextant has solid silver sclaes and the arc is indestincly engraved T.L. Ainsley, South Shields.
T.L. Ainsley is documented as working from several locations between 1858 to 1886
